This
qualification provides the skills and knowledge for
an individual to be competent as a qualified baker who
is able to bake a variety of breads, produce and finish
cakes, sponges and cookies, and produce, fill and bake
pastries. Work would be undertaken in various food processing
enterprises where baking products are prepared and served,
including bakeries, restaurants, café, hotels,
catering operations, clubs, pubs and coffee shops. Individuals
may have some responsibility for others and provide
technical advice and support to a team.

Individuals with this qualification are able to perform
roles such as:
• Baking a variety of breads
• Preparing a variety of pastries and fillings
• Preparing sponges, cakes and cookies
